The application of wire drawing dies

What is wire drawing die ?

The wire drawing die is a kind of die through which the metal wire passes from thick to thin, and gradually reaches the size that people need. This special die is the wire drawing die.

What is drawing dies used for?

Wire drawing die is a very important consumable product for various metal wire manufacturers to draw wire. The scope of application of the wire drawing die is very wide. It is mainly used for drawing linear difficult-to-process objects such as rods, wires,  and pipes. It is generally suitable for drawing processing operations of metals and alloy materials such as steel, copper, tungsten, and molybdenum.

The core of the wire drawing die

The core of the wire drawing die is generally made of natural diamonds and artificial diamonds (artificial diamonds include mcd, pcd, synthetic materials, etc.). The copper wire drawing die belongs to the soft wire drawing die. There are also hard wire drawing dies, such as drawing tungsten wire and so on. The angle of the compression zone of the copper wire drawing die is generally 16-18 degrees, and the fixed diameter length is 30-40%, while the angle of the compression zone of the tungsten wire drawing die is relatively small, generally 12-14 degrees, and the fixed length is 60-70 %.

The application of drawing dies

Drawing dies are widely used, such as high-precision wires used in electronic devices, radars, televisions, instruments and aerospace, as well as commonly used tungsten wires, molybdenum wires, stainless steel wires, wire and cable wires and various alloy wires are all drawn with diamond drawing dies. The diamond wire drawing die made of natural diamond has strong wear resistance and extremely high service life due to the use of natural diamond as raw material. The production process of wire drawing die insert includes several process steps such as pressing die, drafting die and turning.

Since the cost of the wire drawing die can reach more than 1/2 of the wire drawing cost, how to reduce the consumption cost of the wire drawing die and improve its service life is the primary problem that metal wire production units urgently need to solve.

Moresuperhard provide PCD wire drawing dies and MCD wire drawing dies.Dimaond wire drawing dies have good wear resistance and long services life.

Advantages of PCD wire-drawing die

-Much long use life -Suitable for long production runs

-Best choice for highly corrosion wire materials

-Suitable for titanium wire materials

-Wire remains round, even with significant die wear.

Advantages of MCD  wire-drawing die

-Good for fine and super fine wires

-Low surface friction

-Smooth wire surface

-Ultra-high accuracy wire available

Metal Cutting Blades For PCB board

Evaluation of circuit board quality and process improvement requires slicing as a basis for objective inspection and judgment. Slice analysis using metallographic equipment is an important means to check the thickness of PCB/PCBA internal circuits, number of layers, through hole aperture size, through hole quality observation, PCB/PCBA solder joint cavity, interface bonding status, and wetting quality evaluation.
